The short version
We collect what we need to produce your quote and your panels, we never sell it, and your photo stays on your device while you design. Questions or requests: hello@splashzilla.com.
What we collect and why
- Design details — panel sizes, materials, artwork choice and extras. Needed to produce your quote (legal basis: contract).
- Contact details— name, email, postcode, phone if given, and your fitter’s contact if you share it. Used to send your quote and arrange delivery (contract).
- Your photo — while you design, your photo is processed entirely in your browser and is not uploaded. When you request a quote we receive a small preview thumbnail so we can check print suitability; the full-resolution file is only requested if you go ahead (contract).
- Account data — if you create an account, sign-in is handled by Clerk, our authentication provider; we store your account id against your orders so you can track them (contract).
Who processes it
We use a small number of processors, each under GDPR-appropriate terms: Vercel (site hosting), Clerk (sign-in and accounts), Telegram (instant order alerts to our team) and our own UK-hosted order database. When an order goes to production, production details (panel sizes and print file — never your contact details unless delivery requires them) are shared with the print partner making your panels.
How long we keep it
Quote requests that don’t become orders are deleted after 12 months. Order records are kept for 6 years (UK tax rules). Source photos are deleted 60 days after delivery.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, correction, deletion, or restriction of processing — email us and we’ll action it within 30 days. You can also complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk), though we’d appreciate the chance to fix things first.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies: those needed to run the site and, if you sign in, Clerk’s session cookies to keep you signed in. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies — which is why there is no cookie banner nagging you.
